These Terms govern services provided by U-Movers / U-Lyne ("we", "us") to the customer ("you"). Service-specific addenda apply based on the service selected at booking. If a booking confirmation, rate agreement, or written statement conflicts with these Terms, the written document controls.

  • "Shipment" or "Goods" means the items tendered for transport or storage.
  • "Booking" means your confirmed order for services.
  • "Quote" means a non-binding estimate based on information provided.
  • "Carrier" means the actual transport provider for any leg of service.
  • "Accessorials" means extra services such as liftgate, inside delivery, or appointments.
  • "Charges" means all fees, surcharges, and accessorials related to service.
  • "Transit time" is an estimate and not a guarantee unless stated in writing.

Quotes are estimates based on your shipment details and carrier pricing at the time of request. Final charges may change due to reweigh/reclass, dimensional changes, accessorials, appointments, limited access, waiting time, port or terminal changes, customs holds, detention/demurrage, address corrections, re-delivery, storage, or carrier surcharges.

  • Provide accurate shipment details (weight, dimensions, class, commodity, value).
  • Pack, label, and secure Goods safely and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Ensure pickup and delivery sites are accessible and ready within scheduled windows.
  • Provide correct contacts, permits, and site instructions required for service.

We do not accept illegal goods. Hazardous materials are accepted only with written approval and proper declarations. We may refuse or stop service for restricted items or improper packaging.

Payment terms shown at booking govern. Services are generally prepaid unless agreed otherwise in writing. Late payment may pause service, incur fees, and be sent to collections.

Unless you purchase cargo insurance or declare value in a way we confirm in writing, liability is limited by the applicable carrier rules and service addenda. Ask us about coverage options before booking.

Inspect shipments at delivery and note any exceptions. Damage or loss claims must be reported promptly and within carrier deadlines. Concealed damage and packaging issues may have stricter documentation requirements.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside reasonable control, including weather, strikes, port congestion, equipment shortages, or government actions.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, these Terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, with venue in state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. We may update these Terms; the version and date on this page control.

By using our site or services you agree to these Terms. For quotes, bookings, and checkouts, we record acceptance with a checkbox, timestamp, and Terms version (example: "I agree to Terms v1.3"). You can request a copy at any time.

Depending on the transaction, we may act as a freight forwarder, NVOCC, agent, or broker. The role will be identified in your booking confirmation. Ocean carriers' bills of lading and tariffs apply to the carrier portion of service and may limit liability.

Shipping documents may be exchanged electronically. You are responsible for providing accurate commercial invoices, packing lists, and export data. Where supported, electronic bills of lading may be used by agreement and in accordance with carrier requirements.

Where supported by carriers and partners, we align with Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) standards to improve interoperability for shipment milestones and documentation. Reference links: DCSA standards hub, Track & Trace, eBL overview.

Detention, demurrage, per diem, port storage, chassis, exams, ISF/AMS filing, customs holds, terminal handling, pier pass, and similar fees are typically pass-through charges from carriers or terminals. These may be billed as incurred.

You warrant compliance with export and import laws, sanctions, and security requirements. Accurate commodity descriptions, values, and classification data are required. You authorize us to share shipment data with carriers and authorities as needed to complete service.

If a shipment requires us to operate as an ocean transportation intermediary, the applicable registration or tariff terms will be disclosed in your booking documents. We do not represent that any license applies unless stated in writing. Reference: 46 CFR Part 515.

LTL pricing depends on NMFC classification and shipment characteristics. Carrier reweigh or reclass can change charges. Reference: NMFTA NMFC overview.

Safe packaging is required. Items should be palletized, banded, and shrink-wrapped when appropriate. Extra handling or repackaging may be billed if freight is not ready for carrier pickup.

Accessorials such as liftgate, inside delivery, residential delivery, appointments, and limited access may apply based on site conditions. Fees are billed as required by the carrier.

LTL liability is governed by carrier rules tariffs or bills of lading. Carrier tariffs vary, and limits may apply unless you purchase declared value coverage.

Visual or virtual estimates depend on the item list provided. Final pricing may change if inventory, stairs, carry distance, packing needs, or access conditions differ at pickup or delivery.

Customers must disconnect appliances, secure valuables, and ensure pets are safe. Parking permits, elevator reservations, and building access instructions must be arranged prior to service.

We do not transport cash, jewelry, firearms, hazardous materials, perishables, or irreplaceable items without special written arrangements. Please keep these items with you during the move.

We conduct a walkthrough and may take photos before and after service. Damage must be reported promptly so we can document and coordinate resolution in line with carrier requirements.

Waiting time and rescheduling fees may apply if the site is not ready, access is blocked, or inventory differs from the booking details.

Storage terms begin on the intake date and continue until release. Access is by appointment and may require advance notice. Inventory lists and condition notes are required for storage.

Storage is at the customer's risk unless cargo insurance is purchased or written coverage is confirmed. Inspect items promptly upon release and report concerns within carrier deadlines.

Storage fees continue until release. If fees are unpaid, we may exercise lien or disposal rights as permitted by law after providing required notice.

For cross-border shipments, you are responsible for accurate HS codes, valuation, country of origin, party screening, and regulatory filings (AES, ISF, or broker filings). We may request a power of attorney or additional documentation to comply with trade rules.
